In the 3 years I was in Hayward, A Street Cafe was the only
place I could get a decent meal. The food is wonderful.
Vegetables always crunchy - not over or under cooked.
Very romantic atmosphere.
Favourite food - Calamari Steak and Muscles
Sometimes there is a special Lamb Dinner which is
just mouth-watering.
Love the custard with caramel sauce desert.
Great coffee. Good wine selection.

I have gone there only for lunch. I would say it compares
very well with any San Francisco restaurant. Whenever I
take guests there, they are always "surprised" that Hawyard
has such a good restaurant.

My husband and I had heard about this restaurant through
the Dining Guide and after a year finally got a chance to
try it. We agreed that the experience was such a delightful
one that we would give it our review in the hopes that

This is the best restaurant I have found in Hayward. I eat out quite
frequently in San Franscisco, and I find this restaurant is comparable
if not better than most places in the city. My favorite dish is
the chicken with raspberry vinagarette. I strongly recommend
this restaurant.

This is a great find! In the 6 years or so we have
been going there, the food and service has been
consistantly good. Chris is a master chef and each
wonderful dish has it's own light but flavorful
sauce that is to die for. Be sure to try whatever
special is being offered. It's a great way to try
