Sample Chef Russell Siu's New York Steak Alae (steak grilled with Hawaiian clay salt), the crab cakes, or the signature ahi katsu wrapped in nori and deep-fried with a wasabi-ginger butter sauce. Siu combines a deep understanding of local flavors with a sophisticated palate, making this place...
Chef Russell Siu has crafted a reliable albeit rather predictable approach to his version of Hawaii Regional cuisine. The simple bistro-like atmosphere, professional service and solid food draws a loyal following of island residents. Love, love this place! Not a tourist place. This is where the locals spend special occasions. The fish is amazing. Most of the crowd had the butterfish. Rave reviews all around.
The food ranges from light to deep fried. Ask the waiter for your preference. They will please.
This is very yet basic place if you are looking for nice quality unexceptional dining. It is also much more affordable compared to other places located in Waikiki. The food is ok but not inventive and does not strike. It is not in particularly interesting location either and requires $20-25 ride in the taxi from Waikiki. I would not recommend...
