El Farol Restaurant Review

This family-friendly restaurant serves up an American interpretation of Mexican food with friendly service. An outpost of the locally-owned Jalisco group of Mexican restaurants, the small cantina is beloved for its huge portions and affordable prices. Top choices include soft tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Margarita fans will be pleased to learn El Farol serves the same large and frosty $3.50...

The neighborhood Mexican restaurant we all wish we had

Good food, GREAT service and salsa. Used to be Jalisco's. Get stuffed and smiled at for a reasonable price. Been around forever, good portions, good pour, good everything. They have been doing everything right for decades, and it shows.

Simple. Basic. Good

Now, officially called "22." The best thing about this restaurant is the interior/atmosphere. The food is not bad, it's good, just not very good/great. I had a sirloin steak and mashed potatoes and broccolini. (more places need to serve broccolini.) Nice outside seating area. Fun spot to meet a group of friends. Great neighborhood of 15th Avenue. So much more...

Service is ruining the place

Okay, I wrote before about giving them a break about the service b/c they were new --back then. Went with friends for dinner this time and it took about an hour for the fries--thought they had forgotten them. The waitress was truly clueless-the place was not even crowded as an excuse. The other food-- which came before the fries which were meant to be an appetizer to share--was cold. ...

Good Saturday Brunch

Had brunch there on a spur of the moment decision due to
the extreme long wait to get a table at Coastal Kitchen on a saturday at 1:30 pm. All six of us ordered different selections from the brunch menu and everyone was happy with the food. I had the Crabcake Eggs Benedict and they were very good. Others at the table had the Corned Beef Hash and the Farmer's breakfast. They all looked...

Great drink (if a bit pricey), but the food is always a downer

I popped into 22 doors last night to have a cocktail and grab a bit to eat. The drink was great, but the food was terribly disappointing. I got the grilled cheese and butternut squash soup appetizer. The sandwich was fine, but the soup was horrifying. It had the consistance of water and tasted like undercook potatos. It would take a lot to convince me that it had any squash in it at all!
