The pizzas have been created to provide ideal flavor pairings and innovative combinations with an 850 degree oven to assure it keeps your crusts crunchy and your cheese melted. Each pie is made to order and with all this thought and care put into our pizzas, we promise we'd never ever send you a burnt pie. The color on your crust is our...

Editorial reviews from the web (5)

"The Joey" is a must-order here: Berkshire pork sausage, mozz, provolone, crushed tomato, spinach and garlic

When the weather starts getting colder, warm up with a margarita pizza and grab a seat towards the end of the bar section where the pizza oven is.

Yet another entry into the increasingly serious pizza culture that's developing in Philly. Not only are the pies and sides great, but there's a lovely selection of wines to enjoy alongside them. Heated outdoor seating, too.

Yeah the pizza is great, but order the marinated olives - it's like you've never tried an olive before until now.

Citysearch Editorial Review

With a stretchy marble bar that encourages chatting, tables that live in close quarters, a lack of sound-proofing to hush the bricked and wooded lair, classic rock crooning from the speakers and...

I would clone them if I could...only a storefront wide with seating at bar and a number of very cozy (somewhat cramped) tables and in warmer weather outdoor seating along one side--the biggest plus I can give is to the staff which was warm, welcoming, and consistently friendly even though we were clearly older than the younger crowd and from...

We'd come to Philly for the weekend, and had done some due diligence with regards to eats having reviewed the reviews here on TA and mapped out a few options...of which to be honest, Zavino's was not one. As luck or the universe would have it - we were fortunate enough to be "delivered" here.
The place, located amongst other...

This was my 2nd visit to Zavino! The food and wine has been delicious both times. Friends and I share gourmet pizza and appetizers with a couple glasses of wine on a Friday night. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. It's Perfect... have not been disappointed! :)

Food was good, service was excellent. Small selection of beer on tap. Pizza was good but the pasta was excellent.

Tips about this business (8) view all

With a stretchy marble bar that encourages chatting, tables that live in close quarters, a lack of sound-proofing to hush the bricked and wooded lair, classic rock crooning from the speakers and bartenders trained to be approachable, this wine and pizza den is the kind of place to come by yourself when you wish for some fresh conversation. It’s also the kind of place where residents of the gentrifying Gayborhood eat and drink frequently and comfortably without overshadowing or being overshadowed by the influx of (often straight) creative and white-collar shoppers, daters, and workers from...
