Read about this place on a burger related blog ("A Hamburger Today" for those who are interested) and made a plan to visit ASAP. After visiting I am amazed this place isn't more packed or more talked about but then I suppose NY has so many places that claim to offer a good burger. I have been to Zaitzeff's many times; used to order from the downtown spot when we lived there, and now go to the East Village restaurant. I love the charm of the space, that it is family-run, and as a non-beef eater, the turkey and veggie burgers. The sweet potato fries are divine, and you sort of feel healthy eating them. this place is brand new- still working out a few kinks but the owners are really nice and the food is great. the place is one of the cleanest places ive been to on the lower east side. Its mostly organic and hormone free- great fresh ingrediants- on occasion when its really busy, you may have to wait a little bit for food but its ok because the food is WORTH THE WAIT! atmosphere is also pretty...
