This is certainly not the Dr. Zahm that I new. He took very good care of me on several occasions. He took care of my first wife, and my sister. My sister was only 18 when she had her wisdom teeth out. Maybe his ""Bed side"" manner was a little unconventional, but he was a fine dentist/oral surgeon. If I'm not mistaken he was also a licensed Anesthesiologist. You had the best of both worlds when Zahm took care of you. His office walls were covered in Thank You letters and drawings and such from young patients. I recall one young patient thanking him, in a letter, for building a cage for her...
I took my seventeen y/o daughter to Dr. Zahm to have her wisdom teeth removed. This is a child that has never had anydental work or other medical procedures done. She was aware of the fact that an IV line would need to be started. She was scared, even through given oral sedation prior to the procedure. When she asked if I, her mother could come back to the room, the nurse told her no, that it was a surgical area.( I understand this perfectly) my daughter became upset and began to cry.
