Camps generally do not live up to expectations. Recently had our 5 year old in the La Jolla YMCA Cooking Camp. It turned out to actually be an "eating camp," not "cooking camp." I signed my daughter up for two camps last summer. The first one was at the Firehouse in downtown La Jolla and was a dance and music class. The first day was chaotic to say the least and I foolishly left my daughter there thinking "this is the Y." A great place for activities for kids, they offer a great range of classes from gymnastics and tennis to basketball and swimming in a heated pool. An extra bonus is getting a little time to workout yourself in the gym there or sit at the cafe and enjoy coffee and a snack. Summer camps are great too though they tend to fill up rather quickly.
