I have been eating at Wooden Nickel for over 20 years. In my opinion they have the best food in town! A couple of my favorites are the teriyaki skirt steak (yum!) and the French dip sandwich. I had a French dip there last night and added Swiss cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions and horseradish on the side which I add...

First time didn't go well

A friend recommended this restaurant to my wife, unfortunately it didn't go well for us. We arrived at 9:05am on a Saturday, shortly after they opened so the food arriving slowly was expected as they were still setting things up. I ordered a 3 egg ham and cheese and mushroom omelet, hold the mushrooms and my wife the French toast....

Thought we would try something local and looked up the Wooden Nickel. It did not disappoint! We will be going back when we are in that area! Food was awesome. Service excellent! And the cook knows what he is doing!

Must have calamari sandwich

If we hadn't been here years ago with a local, we most likely wouldn't have ever been to this place - and we would have missed out on a truly delicious specialty - their calamari sandwich! Living on the East Coast, we do not have anywhere that serves such a gastronomic pleasure and try to make it here each time...

Had an excellent French dip so large I took half home for lunch the next day. Famous for their burgers, they also have steak and fish and chips. It's a bar but has comfortable booths and friendly service. Very popular at prime time.
