WBWC is one of the only places (if not the only place) in NC where women can still have an out-of-hospital birth center experience attended by experienced and very well-qualified nurse-midwives. I had my son there and also worked there as a nurse; both experiences only affirmed the unique and high-quality birth experience this birth center has to offer.

Women's Birth & Wellness Center has a wonderful store full of hard to find items. Cloth diapers, Haba toys, baby carriers like Ergo, nursing bras & organic clothing are amongst the top sellers. The boutique also has breast pumps for sale & rent. The ladies who work in the boutique are very knowledgeable about the products and can help you find exactly what you need.

I gave birth to my daughter there in 2005. She was my first and I have always been so scared of doctors and hospitals that I decided to do some research to see if I could find a small doctors office at least.
