Help us make it rightIf you want the privacy of a cottage, a bit of elbow room, and the amenities of a luxury hotel, you'll find them all at this resort on the bank of the Chena River. The individual cottages, some of them fronting the river and surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, have patios or garden spaces. On summer evenings you can sit outside and watch canoes, rafts, and powerboats pass by. Chena's...
At this sunny gathering spot, you can get bacon-and-eggs for breakfast and iceberg lettuce salads for lunch, but we recommend you also try their bratwurst and sauerkraut, wiener schnitzel, fresh-baked bread and Viennese pastries. This is where Aspen real estate agents meet over cups of coffee poured by dirndl-clad waitresses. And there’s a full bar at this family-friendly spot where locals and...
Owner/chef Harold Neuweg consumes more bratwurst and beer on a Monday than you do in a year; he’ll let you know this while he hovers over your table demanding to know how the schnitzel is. Over 43 years of affordable Bavarian cuisine puts this on the Aspen to-do list, if not for the infinite Warsteiner Pilsner, then for Harold’s fresh sauerkraut. European flags hang over the lodge-style dining...

eating after a breakfast like that. Back then, all the staff wore
authentic Austrian costumes, serving a menu that was equally
as authentic.

Since 1965 this restaurant is known as one of Aspen's true dining landmarks. It takes such care in serving authentic Austrian fare that you will leave with a strange hankering to watch the Sound of Music. The menu, as expected, serves plenty of traditional Austrian dishes, such as Bratwurst and Sauerbraten. It also, however, offers a nice continental selection too, including Dover sole, sirloin...
