After living in east county for 35 years, Whites has always been my go-to meat store.
However, about 4 or 5 years ago I noticed the quality start to drop, getting worse with each passing year.
Their beef used to be choice or better. Now it's barely select grade. Their pork and chicken comes from the very same places Walmart, Winco, and Safeway get theirs (I asked). The difference? They lay it out in their fancy cooler, and of course charge much more. When it comes to the ground meats, like hamburger, sausage, etc.? There's now a good chance you'll encounter something crunchy. (gristle or bone pieces) That was never the case, and I actually stopped buying it because it continued to show up even after complaining. Even their famous beef sticks have fallen into the gross zone. Squeeze them and you'll pop the grease from the end. (also never the case before)
One last note. White's own website backs up my claim! You won't find a review newer than 2017 or lower than 4 stars. I left one much like this and they didn't post it. And I'm sure mine was one of MANY critical reviews swept under the rug.
AVOID this company. (You're better off with Gardners or one of the smaller butchers on Sandy Blvd.)
I absolutely love White's country meats! I live in Tigard, but grew up in gresham, somewhere I forgot about White's, but when I found it again, I'll never go anywhere else! I go once a month and buy my meat for the rest of the month and it is soooo worth it! Best steaks I've ever had, and very affordable! I love it when I walk in the door and everyone is so nice, there is one young blond woman that works there and she remembers me every time, even though I only go once a month! Great people, great meat I look forward every month to seeing them and getting the best beef I've every had!! I can't say enough great things about this place and the people that work there!!!!!!!!

My husband gets excited when he hears I am going meat shopping at White's. We no longer purchase our meats from the grocery store. The quality at White's is unbeatable. Once you've had their meat, you will find the grocery store carries garbage meat.
And the jerky! Oh my, what can I say about the jerky? I purchase their 1/2 pound bags of teriyaki jerky on a regular basis. I will eat half the bag in a couple of days. Usually, I hide if from my husband. LOL
Anyway, if you are in Gresham, and in the market for quality meat; go to White's Country Meats. They may be busy, but worth the short...

I absolutely love this place, whether it be the bacon wrapped fillets, the kabobs, or even just their all beef sausage called the Hound Dog. I have bought farm raised salmon here as well and it was excellent.
