Worth the trip.. A nice place for a day trip and have lunch. Nestled in White Pines State Park near Mt. Morris and Polo, just a little north of Dixon. The lodge restaurant has been there "forever," remembering going there even when I was a kid (50 some years ago). A rustic, northwoods setting and motif.

I know it fills up with families in the summer, but this is still a great place to take your honey. The log cabin rooms have automatic fireplaces and the ""Sweetheart"" ones even comes with a fridge and complementary bottle of bubbly. The restaurant is well priced and the staff is very attentive and kind. Bring your boots and go for a hike too.
