White Crane Tea Co

FInest Green Tea outside of Japan

Review Rating
YellowBot Location
This was the most surprising store I've ever run into at Japantown in San Francisco. The owner, David Chen, introduced me to Japan's finest teas and art. I've been hooked on his green tea ever since. It's worth the look if you're ever at Japantown.

Children love Benihana, and if you stick to the simpler menu items, you may... more

Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion... more

I had no clue about tea and was a die hard coffee snob until I walked into White Crane Tea Company in Japantown. David the owner, broke open a new package of $50 tea just so I could try. There's no chance in hell Starbucks, Peets, or Blue Bottle Coffee would ever do that for me. Never in a million years. After he patiently discussed the differences between the premium tea he carries, I started... more
