Sean Conner Leaves Whiskey Cake to Launch a Pizzeria

Most people know Sean Conner as the talented cocktail maestro behind the bar at Plano gem Whiskey Cake (he also did the drink menu for the more recently opened Mexican Sugar), but apparently he's got a few more tricks up his sleeve: Now he's opening his own pizzeria.

Mike Hiller reported last week that Conner had departed Whiskey Cake, and today he's got the scoop on where he's headed —...

Folks are Swarming West Plano's Hot New Mexican Sugar

Here's an inside look at Mexican Sugar at the Shops at Legacy. It's the newest venture from Whiskey Cake and Velvet Taco creator Fork It Over LLC, and after an eight-month renovation it's basically unrecognizable from its previous incarnation as Coast Global Seafood.

Great dining , gluten free Items, creative menu with healthy sides. Austin, our server was very knowledgeable about items on menu offering recommendations. Management visited our table to make sure everything was good, & friendly conversation along with the kids. Overall a very pleasant diner with family celebration.

Just had my birthday dinner here on Saturday, do not let the website, or menu online fool you, they offer so much more than what is listed. The food was absolutely amazing, every single bite. Our waiter Dallas treated us like a friend and had great recommendations. Rest/Atmosphere was energetic and fun!

Outdoor patio, fireplace, pouring rain. Warmed by the wine and one of the best Pork Belly Ramen dishes in the DFW area. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Very interesting restaurant overall.

The food was delicious & they made it so easy to alter the items I wanted to ensure they were all vegan friendly. Loved their tangy lemonade too! Totally wanna go back soon!!

We serve up tasty farm-to-kitchen dishes and cocktails, all made from scratch with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms and markets. We use slow-cooking methods on our wood grill and spit and in our smoker because it tastes better that way. Come dine with us at our communal tables, in one of our booths, on our sofas or rocking chairs, or perhaps on the porch next to the fireplace.

Restaurants with Gluten-Free Menus, Family Friendly, Restaurants near Dr Pepper Arena: Located north of Dallas in Plano, just off the Tollway, Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar prides itself on serving up delicious farm-to-kitchen foods and drinks. In fact, most entrees are slow-cooked on a live wood grill or smoker, so it's the perfect place to indulge in some classic Texan fare. Some popular menu...

Whiskey is the theme at this big, open, amiable bricked place in a shopping center off the tollway. The cocktails are swell, the whiskey list enticing, and the food, from outsized pulled-pork sliders to spit-roasted chicken to whiskey-soaked desserts, is surprisingly good. Full bar.

Open for lunch, dinner and even brunch on the weekends too! www.whiskey-cake.com
