Wheeler Historic Farm is a free public park and farm. The park and farm are available to visit 7 days/week.

This was once upon a time a working farm the farmhouse still stands and is open for tours, though I've never gone. It is a great place for a nice walk or a picnic. They have a happening farmers market on Sundays in the summer.
For city folk this is a good way to get a shallow view of the farmyard of many country homes prior to the advent of "Corporate Farms". Subsistence farming is shown quite well with the livestock exhibits. This site shows the way "country" living went on prior to the days of the automobile.
Wheeler Farm is a working farm with lots of farm animals for children to see.
