The Westin opened with great fanfare as a gorgeous, paneled Ritz-Carlton in 1990. Although it's been fumbled with a bit by its owners, Starwood Hotels, this wonderful place seems to have emerged intact, with a blend of luxury amenities and service. That's exactly what it is. A good hotel in a good location. The staff was accomodating to my early check-in and the room was clean and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable (evidenced by my 2 hour nap). The designers of the hotel seem to be very fond of marble, not that there's anything wrong with that. The lobby and staff of the hotel are great. However, we had a negative experience from the beginning that was not completely fixed. Our bed sheets were wet when we checked in. Housekeeping tried to fix the problem, but still they were wet again that night. Otherwise, the food, front desk service, and general furnishings were high-quality.
