After nearly 40 years as an internist specializing in sports medicine Dr. Stephen Weil announced his retirement February 2008. Dr. Weil, originally from Brooklyn, New York, came to Oregon while in the Army. He fell in love with the people and the wide open spaces. An avid runner (and finisher of almost 40 marathons!) I went to his office inexperienced with what tests are needed for a healthy young person.
i let them do all the test they wanted, without questioning them (because i didn't know what was typical or normal) but THEN I GOT MY BILL! this was just supposed to be a yearly checkup. NOT $400.00. (after insurance paid for the typical Checkup costs!)

i consulted with another doctor and he said the tests were totally excessive and not needed for a healthy young lady like myself.

Service Lacking

Dr. Stephen Weil is a wonderful doctor but the service I have received from the front desk staff has motivated me to start looking for another doctor. They have been both rude and unhelpful, in person and on the phone, to the point where I am going to stop going to see a great doctor. For anyone who can stand poor service and a snobby attitude, Dr. Weil is great.
