Bring an "open mind" to chef Wylie Dufresne's "cutting-edge" Lower Eastsider, where the "work-of-art" American-Eclectic menu is composed of "thoughtful", "unconventional" dishes; "skilled" staffers oversee the "appealing", open-kitchen space, and while the prix fixe–only format is "not cheap", it's definitely an "experience."

wd-50 Restaurant Review

As the wordplay in its name suggests, wd-50 is certainly a piquant restaurant. Wylie Dufresne has always been way ahead of the New York City experiential curve. After the glimpses of playfulness he showed at 71 Clinton Fresh Food, he made a name for himself as a researcher and provocateur here at wd-50. There's eccentricity in his discoveries, like fried mayonnaise or knotted foie gras, and he...

Chef Wylie Dufresne—the mad genius and early progenitor of the molecular gastronomy trend—mixes colors, flavors, and textures with a masterful hand, and the staff encourages diners to feel at ease trying the deconstructed interpretations of modern food. You might think you know what an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese, or eggs Benedict might look like but you're in for a surprise....

Slater's 50/50 Restaurant Review

Tucked away in an otherwise nondescript strip mall, this large, popular Anaheim Hills venue is well known for being the home of the “50/50 patty,” a burger made up of equal parts ground beef and ground bacon. However, this attention-getting patty merely scratches the surface of the near-hedonistic delights that are offered. For starters, the beer selection is dominated by an eclectic band of...

Celeb chef and Clinton Street Columbus Wylie Dufresne's so-weird-it-works experimental kitchen. Stay with us here: fried mayonnaise squares, pork belly, celery noodles, and edamame ice cream. Tastes better than it sounds. Sleek and modern space with high booths and a vaguely Scandinavian feel. Like a Jetsons kitchen for 23rd-century hungry explorers. Although not too hungry, hopefully, as...

celebrated my birthday here and the food was interesting.. but only 1 or 2 dishes were crazy outstanding. service was nice though. maybe a 3.5 but since it was so expensive and i can't do half stars.. 3 stars.

it's def an experience but not sure if i'd do it again.

Wow new menu

Went last night to try the new menu at WD-50. It did NOT disappoint. I've dined here a few times always for a special occasion ie: birthday, promotion and i'm always amazed by the gastro-wizardry that i'm honored to consume. WD and Chef Jon Bignelli ar

Fun Fact: Wylie is a sweet-natured man and not at all averse to saying hello to customers. But don't expect him to come to you.

Know Before You Go: Dessert chef Alex Stupak is even more out there than Dufresne, and his desserts can be pretty hardcore. They're not for everyone.

What to Drink: Don't miss on the cocktails, which are as radical in their way as the food.

What to Drink: The wine list features offbeat bottles from Austria to Greece, along with smart French varietals, most ranging from $30 to $475. Around six signature cocktails are offered, including the Royal Blush with fresh cherry puree, champagne, vodka and lime juice.
