It's hit or miss at The Villa. I grew up eating their food. Sometimes it's amazing, but most times it's terrible. Just picked up a large cheese pizza. They must've put the pizza in the their to-go bag right out of the oven, because as you can see, most of the cheese melted and stuck to the bag. Very disappointing.
Service was acceptable while the food was not. I've been all over North America, including Canada, and this restaurant simply doesn't match up. If you want better Italian cuisine in Marquette then there are two clear choices: The Pasta Shoppe and Casa Calabria, with the Casa being more of the full dining experience and the Pasta Shoppe being closer to a New York street-side deli. Diner from Florida. It had been 28 years since I ate at the Villa. Found the food not to be as good as I remembered. Very disappointing. Did not like how they hid the cost of soup, salad and garlic bread as an add on to the price. Never in my life have I had to pay $18.50 for a spaghetti with meat balls with soup, salad and garlic bread? When we ordered the spaghetti with meat balls($2.50)...
Ms. Belanger so happens to work at the Villa Capri and an even stranger phenomenon, she is the granddaughter of the owner. False review she gave. No discredit to the restaurant though. I personally only like the zaa. Others like the steak.
Some of the best home made Gnocchi I've ever had. My 3 and 8 y.o. loved it as well as the picky husband. A bit pricey for the UP, but well worth it. We will visit again soon!
