Surprising Find - Vietnamese Food by Cornell

Vietnam has an outstanding value proposition: fast, healthy, inexpensive and tasty vietnamese food in the middle of Collegetown. There is a wide selection of the classic vietnamese standards (pho, cha gio, vermicelli with vegetables and meat, etc.) The prices are very cheap but the food is great. Definitely a place to go for a convenient dinner or lunch.

Before you even enter the building you can tell from looking into the windows that it's not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. No hoisin sauce or siracha on the tables. Looking at the menu in the window offers a clue too: the signature Vietnamese dish, pho, isn't listed in its own category and only a handful of varieties are offered.

The Vietnam Restaurant is a very small place that is a little off the main path, making it a little hard to find. That being said, it is certainly worth the little extra effort it takes. The food is good, cheap, and fast. While the Pho is just okay, all the vermicelli (rice vermicelli) dishes are very good. The appetizers are also nice. The staff is friendly. This is a great place to get a quick meal.
