I hadn't eaten in Viand in about 2 years. What a disappointment. Scrambled eggs tasted subpar, no whole wheat pancakes or turkey bacon and rancid coffee. At least they got the toast right on the 2nd try. This place used to be excellent. Now it's falling
Been eating here for years and it's a nice space with good service BUT it's time to catch up to step it up. For the prices they charge, they should offer better coffee, better bread and turkey bacon, etc... If not, unfortunately I'm going to have to fin
An hour after I placed my order, I got a call saying that the restaurant was closing early and couldn't fill it. (And I had called them 5 minutes before I ordered to find out what the soup of the day was. They didn't say anything about closing early.)
This is a very dissatisfied customer.

Supporters say "every neighborhood needs" one of these very "New York" coffee shops, where the "reliable" if "typical" chow (including one of the "best white-meat turkey sandwiches" around) appeals for "breakfast, lunch or a quick dinner"; service can be somewhat "brusque", and the basic digs are often "loud and busy", but hey, that's what ensures it's "just what a diner should be."
