The first time I ate at Vespa, I couldn't believe it had been right here in Baltimore all this time and I hadn't discovered it sooner. It feels like it belongs in New York or Rome or somewhere larger and more exotic than Federal Hill - the decor is simple but elegant, the space small but chic. Terrific little place - with the option of dining on the outdoor terrace or inside with the dimmed lighting and jazzy music playing in the background - We had our pick of seats.
