All the hot new Italian restaurants in the Gaslamp and elsewhere have almost made San Diego forget about the dependable, family-friendly restaurants that have sustained us for years. Almost. When I moved to Cabo 4 years ago I was dissapointed there wasn't an italian restaurant that comes close to the venetian.
When I come to San Diego I make it a point to have dinner at the Venetian. I am always greeted warmly by Joey Giacalone (part of the family) and the staff is also very friendly. They even remember my name!!
