“Go on an off-night”

Voda
This is a cool vodka bar that reminds me of NYC. It's small, so when it's packed, you're going to feel jammed in the place. But on an off-night, you can grab a drink and have a quiet conversation.

“sharable meal”

Cobras & Matadors
Go here for small plates that you want to share with friends.

I don't recommend it for groups larger than 6 people. It's loud there as it is. When you have more than 6 people, you'll never hear each other.

Also, it's BYOB. If you forget to bring a bottle of wine to go with the meal, pick one up next door, where the selection is good, but a little more expensive than other places.

Finally, make a reservation. The wait can be agonizing. (Though, if you don't want to drink and you're comfortable sitting outside, I noticed you can usually snag a seat pretty quickly at one of the sidewalk tables.)

“It's fun & it's cheap”

Palms Thai Restaurant
This isn't going to be he best food you've ever tasted. But it's off-the-wall and the food is cheap.

A meal for 2, including appetizers and drinks cost $28.

“Great place to work with your laptop”

Panera Bread
I happen to like the food here, but I'm not going to talk about that in this review. The best thing about Panera is that they have free & dependable wi-fi.

Bring a laptop, log on and get to work.

But here are a few things you should keep in mind:
1. they don't have wi-fi at lunch time (noon - 2 pm)
2. there are no power plugs
3. it's loud. Bring earphones.

“great for meeting friends”

Bodega Wine Bar

“Try the sandwiches”

Dagwoods Pizza
The pizza is good here, but I prefer the sandwiches.
The veggie is my favorite. Light, healthy and filling.

“You won't realize it's vegan”

Real Food Daily
I always expect vegan and vegetarian meals to leave me hungry, but the food at RFD is so good and filling I didn't even realize it was vegan.

They have everything from burritos (my favorite because they're packed with flavor) to sushi to meatloaf.
