Welcome to Uno Chicago Grill (www.unos.com). Uno's legendary Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza is just the beginning! Pizzeria Uno began in 1943 when Ike Sewell invented the Original Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Today, the menu has evolved to offer a variety of high quality grill items in addition to the famous Chicago-style deep dish pizza.195251ATTR:BARAWARD-WINNINGBAR & GRILLFAMILY...

Founder Ike Sewell, now deceased, achieved fame by introducing deep-dish pizza to Chicago when he opened Pizzeria Uno (separate listing) across the street in 1943. Pizzeria Due opened across the street in 1955 and offers "the exact same menu," Uno manager George Paxinos said, but in a much larger space. Ninety percent of the menu is dedicated to deep-dish pizza; tourists are surprised when they...

The second half of the old-school pizza power house, it achieves Uno's deep-dish perfection in a more comfortable setting.

Wanted to share true Chicago deep dish. They were recommended by a local couple. We have appetizers (wings and cheese sticks) and of course deep dish pizza. I adored the appetizers, but I can't say I was a huge fan of their deep dish pizza. However, I would absolutely go back because the hot wings and cheese sticks were the...

We noticed that there was always a line up of people trying to get into this restaurant so we went early - very early for supper. I have to say that I am not a fan of their pizza. The crust needed salt or something to give it taste. The cheese was skimpy. I don't like chunky tomatoes and this...

Pizzas are a speciality and made to order. This takes up to 45 mins but you can order while waiting for your table. Calamari starter enough for 4 people. Individual pizzas excellent really deep - looks small but very filling. .

Friendly staff (Aaron) giving advice made this an enjoyable evening. Seating outside on a warm evening, couple of Goose Island beers and a great single pizza - warning: they are bigger than you think!

Good but too tourist

Pizza very good. However, they take your order while you're standing in line. After a long wait you're shown a table and your pizza is delivered. Much too cramped and hectic for me.

Tips about this business (7) view all

The restaurant offers discounted parking at the garage across the street--$10 for three hours.

On weekdays at lunch, get an individual pizza plus soup or salad for $6.

Uno's small street-side patio provides a perfect opportunity to people-watch and enjoy a beer (more than 50 offered) or a mixed drink, like the Captain Colada--a tall, blended libation of spiced rum and pina colada.

For a shorter wait, head across the street to Pizzeria Due, which was opened to handle the overflow from Uno.

When to Go

Avoid weekends at all costs; typical waits can approach two hours. The express lunch is a great way to get the goods on the go.
