On weekends Ulana's is either a goth hangout with industrial music and a black-lacquered crowd or a trance and drum 'n' bass haven for the baggy-clothed dance subculture. Other nights the space can be rented out and filled with the crowd and flavor of your choice.

In Short Ulana's is a restaurant doubling as a lounge, and tripling as a club. The lounge area--accented with blond wood and silk flowers--is the yin to the main room's yang--all chrome and mirrors around a looping bar. The mezzanine allows you to look down onto the dance floor from a vinyl chaise, or up at skylights dancing on the ski-lodge ceiling.

The best nights to go are when they have an event called Double Vision. This is a party that goes on every month. The last one, they called the artsy fartsy s**y party. I helped them set this up personally. That night, they were mostly spinning drum and bass in one room, and hard techno in another.
