Under the Tuscan Sun fans, Italo-philes, and University of Illinois at Chicago staffers beat it to Tuscany for the rustic but celebrated fare of the Tuscan countryside. Recommended: rotisserie-grilled chicken, thin-crust pizzas, and, for splurgers, the rack of lamb Vesuvio. Not recommended: carbo-loading at lunch. AE, D, DC, MC, V. No lunch weekends.

LITTLE ITALY . For terrific Northern Italian cuisine, Tuscany offers an upscale option in the Little Italy section of town. This cozy eatery, which tends to get a little cramped at times, is as popular with youthful hipsters as it is with downtown suits. 3.5 stars. super creamy and on the sweet side bc of the pears. the square ravioli have some grainyness to them bc of the pear consistency which adds a little something different. you get a big plate of ravioli enough to split for 2.

I was here this past Friday on a date, and while the overall ambience was nice - the "happy hour" crew was in full force (at 9 pm!) and a lot of 30 somethings that live in the area were belligerent and obnoxious. That is my only complaint, other than that - the food was wonderful, and the portions are huge!! It's a great place to go if you're a college student, and even if you're not, check it out ... more
