Tripoli Restaurant's belief is that serving the best food is what kept us on the map since 1972. Our clients travel from all over because of our food. We the Salem family, are originally from the city of Tripoli in Lebanon. Coming to America, we noticed that the selection of Middle Eastern food was limited. It was a must to open a restaurant where you could get a good home-cooked Lebanese meal... more

Tasty and popular Middle Eastern and North African dishes are featured in an attractively decorated dining room at this inexpensive Lebanese restaurant. Good service, Lebanese music and occasional belly dancing attract legions of patrons. Wall murals, booths in dark nooks and comfortable chairs and tables welcome patrons. Appetizers include hummus, falafel, kibee (ground lamb with cracked... more

Tripoli has resided on Atlantic Avenue's Middle Eastern row since 1973. The restaurant has survived many incarnations (a fire caused it to move across the street), yet what looks to be a perpetual lack of patrons makes Tripoli's longevity astonishing. The bi-level space is cavernous, laden in hand-carved wood with 20-foot ceilings and walls covered in murals of—you guessed it—the shores of... more

LEBANESE. It's been around for at least a generation, serving up terrific food in a striking two-level space. On the walls, murals show off the glory of Tripoli; enormous windows let in the afternoon light. It's a terrific place for a relaxed lunch.

Start with an appetizer of foul mudammas (fava beans with garlic) or a traditional plate of mezze; among the entres, squash stuffed with minted... more

Ok now, Tripoli was never a seafood joint- the reason for the decor is because the city of Tripoli is situated by the sea. The food here is delicious....it tastes just like home cooked Lebanese food, and that's probably because it's a family owned and run business. The decor is maybe a little out dated but who cares, you're there for the food- I don't think anyone will be taking a bite out of... more

food is very fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Ambiance is just "ok".

The food here is beautiful: delicious, fresh and beautifully arranged. The decor needs updating. The restaurant appears to have been a seafood restaurant in a former life, as there are nautical looking ropes along the staircase to upper level. The bathrooms, and the stairs to get to them, also leave a bit to be desired. It is a pity that the decor/ambiance does not match the high quality of... more

The food here is very authentic middle-eastern Lebanese cuisine. The dishes are large and satisfying and the bill is very inexpensive for the quality of the food.

The only odd thing about this place is that the restroom is 2 flights down in the basement.

Other than that, it was great.

Pros

+ good authentic food, very inexpensive
