Kitchen Remodeling

The quality of work was superior; much better than any other contractor because you have a shafran construction. The materials used were of high quality. The workmen were polite, knowledgeable and always explained in detail when you have any questions. Every aspect of this project was a pleasure and the finished results are fantastic. A "well-kept secret", this "unique" destination in Downtown's "beautiful" art deco Union Station provides "satisfying" New American fare in a "memorable" setting with a "fabulous garden in summer"; the staff is "professional and takes care of you without hovering", so even though some call it "a bit pricey", it's a "fun alternative" in the area.

Nice dining experience

My husband and I went here for my birthday dinner. The service was a little slow, but that was okay because we weren't in any hurry. The server was polite and helpful when he did get to us. The food was very good, well presented. The restaurant is small and quiet, clean and nicely appointed , but it is inside...

Great food in a Grand Train Station

I was in LAUPT at dinner, and there are some pretty limited options. Personally I am a burger in a local bar sort of guy, but hey, I'm on vacation.
Traxx is right inside the Los Angeles union station, with seating inside the restaurant and tables out in the station itself.
I had a local fish dish that was the...

Business description (9) view all

Traxx is located on the eastern edge of downtown Los Angeles. The structure fuses the Spanish colonial, art deco and streamline modern architecture that represent California's heritage and future ambitions.

To enjoy the company of Chef Tara Thomas immediately becomes a whirlwind of conversation filled with laughter, wit, and contagious civic pride focusing upon exciting new developments in her beloved downtown Los Angeles. A fifth-generation Los Angleno, she is a living textbook of knowledge, with enthralling tales of political, cultural, and business elite as well as an uncommon familiarity and...

The magnificent 1930's Union Station dramatically melds Mission, Art Deco and modern styles into a grand historic landmark. Polished marble floors gleam beneath massive chandeliers in the grand concourse, where the restaurant's outer velvet-roped tables perch for engaging people-watching. The elegant, formal inner dining room is intimate, if not slightly claustrophobic; but the airy back patio courtyard with fountains is cool under massive jacarandas. Chef/owner Tara Thomas brings haute New American dining to life with regional flourishes. The jumbo Louisiana crab cake breaks open to...

What to Drink

The wine list is quite reasonable, with 40 mostly West Coast labels ranging from $30 to $90. About a dozen are available by the glass.
