THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Earth & Ocean Restaurant Review

Housed in the trendy W hotel, Earth & Ocean serves New American fare in a cool setting. Since chef Adam Stevenson’s departure, executive sous chef Benjamin Closson has assumed leadership of the kitchen. The menu still features seasonal, local products, as well as an impressive offering of artisan cheeses and charcuterie. Start with the aforementioned selection of terrines, paté and sausages or...

Located in the trendy W Seattle hotel, this stylish restaurant divides its menu between -- you guessed it -- the earth and the ocean. The menu changes regularly, but a recent chilled sweet-pea soup served with a little scoop of lemon-verbena sorbet perfectly captured the essence of spring, while pan-fried soft-shell crab with a corn reduction sauce put to shame every other soft-shell crab I've...

Beautiful food served to beautiful people in the hip and luxurious W Hotel.

Its really tragic how good the food was at Trace, as the experience was negative in virtually every other regard. Our server was pleasant and did her best to be attentive but the net result was we spent nearly 45 minutes waiting to order, then another 35 or so waiting for food to arrive. At one point a manager-type stopped by and informed us we'd be taken care of on the check, however when it...

A Tale of Two restaurants! The bar/ lounge was great, it has atmosphere, comfort, and some of the best cocktails in town. The food in the bar was fun and flavorful. Contrast that to the restaurant space. Didn't see much of the server, despite a nearly empty dining room. The food was unimpressive, to be kind. Duck breast was tiny, and for some reason came with a lump of abused steak (not...

Elegant modern room. Only qualm was the lunch menu is pretty limited in selection.

The duck breast was tough and my potatoes were under cooked. My wife's tuna was poor quality with tough fibrous connective tissue making it very hard to cut. The salad dressing seemed like out of the bottle Thousand Islands. A poor experience from the W Hotel.

Although the menu is very limited, the chef was more than happy to accommodate one of my party who is a vegetarian and eats gluten -free. The chef created a new dish just pour her. So overall I say this was a great choice for the evening.
