Steamship round is not a cut I was familiar with prior to eating at Tom Sarris', but it is juicy and flavorful, and when combined with the huge salad bar, (most of which is right out of a can) it can be a nice splurge, not monetarily, but dietwise... Great Prime Rib, well stocked salad bar, good service, reasonable prices. When we lived in the DC area, we would go there a couple of times a month and now, whenever we are back in DC, we always stop by for more of that great Prime Rib. It 'aint fancy but the food is terrific.

You don't go to Tom Sarris' for the food, although it's passable. It's the atmosphere, from the salad bar shaped like a Mississippi paddle boat to waitresses with 'big' hair, from groups of lost Japanese tourists to content drunks ... it's an ongoing floor show.
