Times Square Visitors Center is a great place to go to if you have questions or need directions in NYC.
They have people there who can show you with diligence on a NYC map where you are looking to go.
My wife and I were looking for this gallery way down in the lower east side & they found detailed directions for us.

If you are in New York City - you have to go to Times Square at night and take a picture from the pedestrian island in the middle of the street. We have one and I love it- the best picture of NYC.

Time Square is where it happens - it is surrounded by theaters, restaurants, and a variety of stores - it is best visited at night time when all the lights are lite - the largest Toy R Us store is located at Time Square - it is a must when visiting New York.
