Help us make it rightProbably the most beautiful monument in DC due to its design and location. Situated on the tidal basin, the Jefferson Memorial is quite picturesque. I was there in August and thought it made a beautiful picture, I can only imagine how much more inviting this location must be when the cherry blossoms are blooming. I hope to return some spring just to see this site

Designed by John Russell Pope, this Roman-style monument to Thomas Jefferson, the nation's third president and author of the Declaration of Independence, is elegant and simple. Jefferson's 19-foot statue stands within, surrounded by some of his most inspirational writings. This is a perfect after-dinner destination.
