Out of business

Thepin Thai closed its door in July, 2010. Bai Thong Thai Cuisine is now at 298 Gough St. 415-863-9335 New owner, new tasty Thai dishes from Northern Thailand and Issan province. Excellent curry and noodle dishes, delicious lamb and steak offerings as well as fish and vegetarian dishes offered daily.

Wonderful food, personal service, and excellent atmosphere

So good that we went back twice during the week in San Francisco. Rather than battle with all the noise and busy-ness of the surrounding trendy places, we opted for the less busy Thai restaurant with plenty of spare tables, but exceptional authentic food, and genuine Thai people at front of house.

With focus on Thai meals, this is a place. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $12 to $20, and dress casual.

Atmosphere: The place has an authentic décor. The interior is enhanced by displayed artwork, and the lighting is moderate. The place is spacious. It is comfortable and fun and patroned by all kinds of people. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive.
