I've been to the W Bar 3 or 4 times for Happy Hour, and it's generally very good. My girlfriend always gets the Emerald Drop, which is a Happy Hourt special, and she swears by the thing - I prefer to stay with the Happy Hour beer menu, which is good as well. This has become a good place to meet up with friends downtown, especially if you work downtown. The vibe is good for maintaining conversation and the drinks are good enough to keep you there. I try to go early to avoid getting stuck in the congestion that occurs when it starts to fill.
To be fair, the atmosphere is great ...what can you say,but its the W.
Clean lines, cool setting.
But the service stinks and the bar area is EXTREMELY small, sure they have more room on the right where the tables are but its always closed off, hence the long wait for a decent drink. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced...$10 for a glass of wine, please. And good luck getting on of the tables or ...
