The Vic is old. But unlike some of the older
clubs in town, like the Arie Crown Theatre, The
Vic has stood the test of time. Acoustics are
solid, and
the the club's interior, featuring original ornate wall sculptures and Italian marble staircases and lobby floor, is well maintained. The Vic opened in 1912 as the Victoria Theatre -- a five-story vaudeville house.

The Vic is open every night. Brew & View kicks off at 8pm (plus 12pm shows on weekends), when a young crowd takes in double features on the mammoth screen and nurses discounted beer. Summer, if the Chicago Bulls reach the NBA playoffs, the place becomes a hipster sports bar with a massive-screen TV.

This venue has good acoustics and a laid-back atmosphere. The space is medium-sized but still felt intimate. They seem to host a pretty good range musical styles and I always check out what shows they have coming up, usually an interesting line-up.

By far, this is the best place to see a show in all of Chicago. It's old, stately, quaint and has great views and even better acoustics. I saw the Radiators jam there in one of the better shows I've ever seen. The Brew and View movie showings they do are awesome as well. Go see a show here!
