A new "Adirondack Top 10" Favorite. An Adirondack gem serving authentic bistro fare using locally sourced product. Here "farm to table" actually means what it says, and the top notch kitchen (all on leave from NYC restos for the summer) works wonders with it. Last night's menu included a hanger steak from Adirondack Meats, the new processor in Ticonderoga. Freshly shucked oysters were dressed...
The offerings are simple and classically prepared. No molecular gastronomy practiced here. No little dollops of marshmallow foam that amazingly taste just like real corn chowder. Here you get the actual corn chowder - in a bowl - made with corn picked this morning.

The food is fantastic and the service is first class. We were pleasantly surprise with the quality of the dishes and very happy with their service on their last night in this summer! It gave us a good ending of our short labor day vacation
Dinner at the Uptown in Hague was worth the drive and the cost. Food was fresh and delicious, with an inventive farm-to-table menu and friendly service in a chic/rustic space. Very good selection of wines and beers. Probably a better spot for adults than kids. Only gripe was the high price of desserts -- although they were exceptionally good.
It looks as though I'm going to be the odd man out (not nearly so on Trip Advisor)

Great old building, very nicely done, rustic dinning room and laid back vibe, very well prepared food, family style.
The negatives-------------
Long wait for the food to arrive (1.25 Hours)
Very small portions at quite elevated prices
Overpriced wine...
