Golf With HistoryLocated just outside Williamsburg, Virginia, Stonehouse is laid over wild, tumbling hills near the York River in the Tidewater Region. When it opened in 1996, The Tradition Golf Club at Stonehouse was named "Best New Upscale Public Course in the Nation" and one of the "Top New Ten You Can Play" by golf Magazine. The tradition of accolades and awards continues. In 2001, Gold...
Such a shame, this course used to be sooo beautiful and now the management has let this course go completely. The greens were horrible, burnt up with weeds growing put of them everywhere like a under funded public course. Pace of play was great because literally no one else was there. Now I see why, such a shame. This course could be amazing again but no one will play it in the shape it is in.
This course was in terrible shape. It looks like they are putting zero dollars into it. Just cutting the grass. Doubt I will be back anytime soon.
Good layout poor conditions on course Greens need alot of work
Green conditions poor, weeds & bare spots. fairways have holes you could lose a golf cart in and weeds but the layout is great. It is a shame that the course is not being maintained. I have played this course occasionally since it opened and it has steadily declind.
This course is in horrible shape. The greens are primarily some type of black fungus, for lack of a better word. Would recommend this course only if it were free to play and lunch was provided. As a local, it's disappointing to see what such a great track has become.
The par 4 Stonehouse course winds over 6,962 yards of steep forested hills, wide plateaus, and abrupt ravines. Against this tumultuous backdrop, the danger of deep bunkers and long carries is balanced by the relative safety of broad fairways and enormous putting greens.
Situated just 15 miles from Colonial Williamsburg, the natural beauty of virgin hardwoods thriving with wild turkey, deer, mountain laurel and hollies provides the backdrop for this spectacular golf course.
