"Brilliant East-meets-West fare" is the lead story (with a sidebar on "outstanding" bar bites) at this "hip" Wolfgang Puck destination adjacent to Penn Quarter/Chinatown's Newseum, sporting a "sleek" multilevel setting; "friendly but not intrusive" servers are another reason why subscribers place it in the "expensive-but-worth-it" column.

The quality of this restaurant is apparent before you even taste the food. Every dish seems to outdo the one before it. The Peking Duck has a wonderfully crisp skin and tender meat. The entire experience from seating to eating and ambiance is very classy and comforting.

Know Before You Go

If you’re underdressed, in a hurry, or on a budget, stay in the downstairs lounge area. While less extravagant and a little louder, the menu is equally stunning and less pricy. You’re also less likely to need a reservation, which is always recommended for second-floor seating.
