What the community has to say about The Porter Beer Bar

Information about this business (3)

The Porter Beer Bar has 40 drafts and over 800 bottles of beer. We were rated #1 beer bar in 2012 and 2013 by ratebeer.com We were also James Beard Award Semi Finalists in 2012 and 2013 for Best Bar Program. We also serve amazing food with daily changing specials.

Awesome pub grub and hundreds -- yes, hundreds -- of bottled beers on the menu.

The Porter in Little Five Points is a small restaurant that does everything big. Burgers are served on over-sized plates heaped with garlic-and-cheese fries, and the beer selection is even more sizable. For extra style, each draft beer is served in its signature glass. The Porter doesn't rely on style alone: they emphasize quality beer paired with quality food. The restaurant looks small from...

Editorial reviews from the web (2)

At first glance, it simply looks like a pub in a nook. But husband-and-wife owners chef Nick Rutherford and Molly Gunn bring pedigree to the proceedings. Drawing from experience at some of the city’s best eateries, they deliver gastropub delights and a list of more than 100 brews. In-the-know in-towners and Little Five Points’ counterculture crowd trade sips of beer with bites of specialty hush...

With the best beer selection in L5P, the Porter dishes affordable suds and grub to a colorful crowd.

In Short
To off-set the over-saturation of PBR-swilling nightspots and dingy pizza dens in Little Five Points, the Porter Beer Bar straddles the line of cool-indie-pub and...

Unique place, over ten thousand different beers

We went in with some friends to have a few drinks, their drink menu was on a clipboard, papers printed front to back of all the alcohol drinks they had available. Dont ask for a bud light, they dont have it but they will give you something similar

Best FISH and CHIPS this side of the pond... by a futbol field

You go in expecting to have your pick of craft/import beers, and you get that.
What you may not expect is spectacular food. When I say the Fish and Chips were amazing - I wish I had more fancy adjectives to express just how amazing.
Another dish(Korean Bowl) was also amazing.
The only complaint was condensation literally dripping on the...

The Porter is an awesome hang out beer spot. Craft beer heaven in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. We stop here for fancy beer everytime we bar hop L5P.

Great service and interesting menu in a neat joint

The place is in a hipster type area of town that is coming around, although the surrounding neighborhood appeared only marginally safe. No issues going to the PBB, but after we came out, we took a short walk and not so sure that was the best idea. The PBB itself was great and we would return, just be more cognizant...

Business description (6) view all

"Best Beer Haunt" -Atlanta Magazine Over 800 bottles, 50 drafts and delicious cuisine de la biere to match!

Located in the heart of Little Five Points, this cozy restaurant with its hand-crafted wooden booths and exposed brick wall is the perfect place for a casual dinner of gourmet pub grub and a few glasses of one of the 30 beers on draft (including two hand pumps) or one of the 400 bottled beers available. The beer list is only micro-brews and small imports, offering pours not available at most...

All the updates and inside info on what's happening at The Porter Beer Bar!

Gastro grub meets the fine-ale palate. Located just off Moreland Avenue in Little Five, the Porter boasts an erudite beer selection and eclectic eats — both with seperate menus. The exposed brick interior and bar's narrow walkway suggest a German-style beer cellar, but with more creative, intimate touches. A few outdoor tables also make it a popular people-watching hangout.

The Porter in Little Five Points is a small restaurant that does everything big. Burgers are served on over-sized plates heaped with garlic-and-cheese fries, and the beer selection is even more sizable. For extra style, each draft beer is served in its signature glass. Aside from the normal ways to serve a pint, unusual glasses include a boot shape or a vial resting in a wooden stand. The...
