Decent barbecue

Review Rating
They have decent barbecued ribs and pulled pork here. Their rib tips are quite good. They have two types of cole slaw and really great potato salad. I like their corn bread and decadent traditional American desserts. Parking can be difficult on La Brea.

The quality of this place has fallen of late.

Missing Something

Review Rating
Although The Pig still has great service and atmosphere, the last year or two has seen a gradual decline in the food quality (in my opinion.) The ribs, brisket, chicken, home-made desserts and sides used to be spectacular, but it's just gotten a little less tasty each time I go. I've gone there for a couple of years now for both dine-in and takeout, so I am speaking from a long experience rather than just one bad time. Also, the Pig used to carry a lot of southern/regional sodas you couldn't find but now it's strictly fountain and can.

Beef Brisket Plate apple-wood-smoked beef slices served with "world championship" sweet mustard sauce. I got sides of potato salad, cole slaw and corn bread. The beef brisket is soft and I love the sauce. 5 bones baby back ribs hickory-smoked dry-rub ribs made with "world championship" recipe.

The Pig bills itself as Memphis style BBQ. It maybe Memphis style but it doesn't compare to Jay Bees for the best Memphis style ribs in LA. I ordered the 5 bones of the St. Louis style spare ribs for $10.28.
