The Metropolitan Grill The moment you step into the Metropolitan Grill, you know you have entered a classic steakhouse. The Met is located in a historic building built in 1903 where guests enter through tall mahogany doors, under the bright green awning, to be greeted by tuxedo clad Maitre D's. Cuts of beef are showcased in a glass display in the front entryway. Twenty-foot columns reach to... more

The Scene The unofficial second office of Seattle's biggest-budget businessmen, this old boys' club steakhouse has long held the top spot on many an expense account for its friendly, capable service and dependably terrific steak. Once through the tall mahogany front doors, the busy world of 2nd Avenue gives way to tuxedo-clad maitre d's, plush, overstuffed booths and cuts of beef... more

Metropolitan Grill for DiningIf you crave big cuts of red meat, go here. The steaks are the dry-aged, Nebraska-raised, (or Kobe beef) and you can taste the tender, juicy difference. The atmosphere may be a little expense-accounty for some members of Darwin's jungle, but, hey, carnivores rule here.

Fronted by massive granite columns that make it look more like a bank than a restaurant, the Metropolitan Grill is a very traditional steakhouse that attracts a well-heeled clientele, primarily men in suits. When you walk in the front door, you'll immediately encounter a case full of meat that ranges from filet mignon to triple-cut lamb chops (with the occasional giant lobster tail tossed in).... more

I was recently at a family birthday party dinner at the Metropolitan Grill... I was happy to give up my coat to the waitstaff to store it in their coat check, and didn't think twice about my wallet being in it in such a high-end restaurant. Not noticing it's absence when I left, I was unhappy to find out the next morning that it had been stolen, and over $1,500 in fraudulant charges accrued... more

Hands down the worst steak ever. For a steak over $50, one should not have to saw....and I mean saw through it. Mashed potatoes were very obviously thinned down with oversalted chicken stock.
The Met if for tourists who don't know any better.
It is beyond me how this place manages to draw a crowd serving such overpriced, less than mediocre food.
