I first went into this store when it opened at another location. I think the current store is their 3rd or 4th location? They must not be able to afford the rent and keep moving to cheaper digs. Anyway, I browsed the first store and wasn't terribly impressed but the owner said they'd be getting lost of new selections so I signed up to be on their mailing list. Their emails were largely about events where you could pay them for the privilege of drinking wine in their store with your dog. I can do that at home. So I never went back there because the emails were pretty useless to me. But then they moved a couple of times and recently I found myself near their store so I went in. Not much had changed except now they do grooming. The same owner was there and she was yelling at one of her employees, which was completely unprofessional to do in front of customers. So I was browsing and she eventually got done with her fit of rage and came to talk to me. She really gave me the hard sell on a ton of products even though I kept trying to tell her I was just browsing. It came across as pretty desperate. Then I heard what sounded like a puppy being strangled so I made some comment about "is that dog alright" to her. She said yes, the dog is being groomed. I said grooming shouldn't make a dog sound like that. Then she copped this really defensive attitude about "what do you know? are you a groomer? what makes you such an expert? I have a grooming license!" Well, actually there's no such thing as a grooming license in California so I knew she was lying. So I asked a question about pet food and her demeanor snapped back to over-friendly saleswoman. She didn't have what I was looking for but she said they get new products all the time and I should sign up for their mailing list. I told her I'm on the mailing list and I would actually like to be removed from it. Her demeanor changed again and she got very angry (crazy)with me. She started going off on me saying "How dare you come in my store and treat me like this! I run a professional store and you don't even HAVE a business! You're too poor and stupid to run a business! So you can just get out!"
Gladly.
It was a really wild experience and, needless to say, I was not removed from the mailing list. I tried to email her and request removal but I got more of the same ramblings, but this time in writing. If you ever want a good laugh, send me a message and I'll let you read them. For some reason, it's all about how she has a store and I don't. Pretty ironic, considering the businesses I own. Maybe she means I don't own a pet store...
Bottom line, this place is to be avoided like the plague. It didn't have great selection, was overpriced, and the owner is a little wacky. And as a groomer, there's no way I would trust her with my dog.

The Loftydog is an excellent store. They have done an excellent job of bringing style and class to the downtown area. It's not just an average pet store. It's like a glamour one stop shop for your dog. But oh!!! high end. Make an appointent to have the pooches tresses trimmed or cut or shaved. 5 stars for investing your money, you certainly have a vision for the finer things in life. Amazing!!!!!
