Possibly the most peaceful rooms in the city. Disappear behind an unmarked door into a dusky rose-tinted haze on one of New York's quietest blocks. Very Edith Wharton. I made an appointment at this tea salon for 5 of us on mother's day. The visit was an expensive one but I had been looking forward to it. the loveliest hotel in new york is where we stayed last night and were treated like royalty. we felt like a king and lady in this subdued and elegant brownstone near gramercy park, frette linens, fine bone china, the whole shebang and no mass market gimmicks. a remarkable experience in travel.

I've stayed in 50+ hotels throughout NYC. The two times I've stayed at the Inn at Irving Place, I was treating myself and my date to a cozy night away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Staff was extremely friendly (despite super-late check-in), and had great recommendations on parking options. Breakfast was yummy. Accomodations were comfortable.
