Home to a still convivial old saloon that was one of the rowdiest miners' haunts back in the day, this atmospheric 1851 inn, which is about 8 miles south of Jackson, is inhabited today by friendly ghosts. Great that you can bring your dog with you, and there is a $20 pet fee. I used Expedia to book the hotel and it stated that continental breakfast was included. The receptionist said that it should not state that because it is not included, but she gave us a 15% discount on the breakfast. We decided not to make use of this. The hotel is old and the floors creak a lot, but you are supplied with...
Well kept quite rooms and great bar and restaurant make this haunted hotel an exciting stop on you gold country trip. Guests also pan for gold in the Mokelumne river canyon five minutes from town.

If you are looking for a quiet room do not stay in the rooms above the bar, it gets very loud in the evenings. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the grounds are extremely nice, the hotel is in as good of shape as you could expect for the age, the rooms underneath the hotel were interesting...
If I rent a hotel room, I expect a bathroom that adjoins it not have to go into the hallway & pay extra for a non sharing bathroom!
