In July 11, 1922, with the audience seated on simple wooden benches placed on the natural hillsides of Bolton Canyon, conductor Alfred Hertz and the Los Angeles Philharmonic inaugurated the first season of music under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl. While much has changed in the ensuing years, the tradition of presenting the world's greatest musicians and striving for musical excellence has...

Open from late May through early October, this famed outdoor venue hosts jazz, rock, and country performers, along with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The shell was originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and later updated by Frank Gehry. There are 18,000 seats—the boxes are jealously reserved, but (shhh, don't tell the A-listers) the acoustics are actually better in some of the cheap seats.
The best overall outdoor concert venue in the city, if not the whole country. A mix of topnotch entertainment, plus great picnicking and a BYO policy (for non-lease events), make it ideal for groups, dates, family outings, and an awesome place to impress visitors.
Hbowl is located at 2301 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA. This location is in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood. This business specializes in Bowling.
With just under 1800 seats the Bowl is now one of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, and has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its inauguration on July 11, 1922. Since then it has, and continues to, stage some of the greatest acts of the time.
As a native Angeleno I can say that the Hollywood Bowl is one of my favorite things in LA. Scenic, fun, great for a group or a romantic date. I love packing a picnic and listening to live music under the stars!
While the perfect concert venue, the Bowl is also incredible for Opera and live theatre! I've seen Ray Charles, La Philharmonic, Jason Mraz, and more perform here and it's always an experience worth having.
