There's something magical about a night at the Bowl. Open air, mountains surrounding, twinkling stars above, a bottle of wine with friends... It's the best way to listen to music, whether it's your fa...view morevorite pop star or the explosive July 4 orchestrated fireworks. view less
Hollywood's premier location for music, dance, and film, this place also features a museum with artifacts on the Hollywood Bowl, including photos and programs.
The best overall outdoor concert venue in the city, if not the whole country. A mix of topnotch entertainment, plus great picnicking and a BYO policy (for non-lease events), make it ideal for groups, dates, family outings, and an awesome place to impress visitors.
I actually like visiting the Bowl during the day when a event isn't going on. You can just come to the empty bowl and still have a picnic in the huge outdoor theater! But it's still super awesome to come when Florence and the Machine is playing!
*If you have any opportunity to see a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, you should! One of the very few venues that allow you to picnic on there grounds and bring your own food and drink. If you are fortunate to have seats in a terrace box, that is great because they provide tiny tables for you. I've seen people bring tablecloths, candles, wine and wine glasses. I've done it and enjoy it...
Once in your lifetime you should see a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Great outdoor setting with cubicles that hold 4 chairs. Each cubicle has a portable table that connects to the side of it if you go early to eat your picnic at your seats. They also have a wine/beer store on sight you can buy wine or beer...
With just under 1800 seats the Bowl is now one of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, and has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its inauguration on July 11, 1922. Since then it has, and continues to, stage some of the greatest acts of the time.
There's a story in every seat.
As a native Angeleno I can say that the Hollywood Bowl is one of my favorite things in LA. Scenic, fun, great for a group or a romantic date. I love packing a picnic and listening to live music under the stars!
While the perfect concert venue, the Bowl is also incredible for Opera and live theatre! I've seen Ray Charles, La Philharmonic, Jason Mraz, and more perform here and it's always an experience worth having.
