Awesome Old Train Station Building, Good Food

The restaurant is in a old train station by the tracks. Trains still go by today, making it a neat experience. The food is good, but nothing really exceptional. Still a good place to go if in Hartselle. Also, more upscale food in an upstairs dining area for showers or rehearsal dinners, etc.

Found this place via Tripadvisor due to a last minute change in plans.
I am glad to have found it. Cool atmosphere, prompt friendly service and good food. We had the full spectrum of meals from steak, salads, seafood and burgers. Everone enjoyed their meal.
It is well worth stopping by. I highly reccomend it.

We had a planned stop in Hartselle on a vacation trip and always like to eat at a local place. The Freight House is in a former train cargo terminal, and they have kept the architectural features and a lot of the railroad equipment on display. We ate a late lunch around 1:30. I have eaten here many times. Our Rotary Club meets here on Tuesday at lunch. The food and service is always great. I have been here for business meetings and with just friends.
