Chef Eric Greenspan’s polished California fare is on display at this modern bistro and from the looks of the people flocking to it, it’s hitting all the right notes. More sophisticated than neighboring Melrose Bar & Grill or The Village Idiot, the vibe is upscale and elegant. Greenspan, who worked in the kitchen at the original Patina, describes it as “fine dining for the everyday man,” which is to ... more

Much like the atmosphere at The Foundry on Melrose - sleek and industrial while still adhering to tradition - the menu presents classic dishes with edgy add-ons. We went for a special occasion and it became my girfriend's favorite restaurant. The service was amazing. Special requests were no problem. We loved all the bread courses and all the food was wonderful. The patio is very romantic, but would also be a cool place to take your parents. Everyone was very friendly. Desert was fantastic. I highly reccomend it.

Several times, my party agreed that an accent to a dish (like melon soup) would have been a better focus of the dish, with the feature of dish (e.g. tuna tartare) best relegated to an accent role. Service was knowledgeable and attentive when present, but it's obvious this is still a new restaurant ... more
