Small but mighty

Review Rating
This small storefront restaurant has excellent nightly dinner specials. I've had very good tomato soup here as well as fish dishes. they also have a nice selection of wines by the glass. It's a fun place to eat of you are seeing a film at the Arclight. It can get very crowded as the night wears on.

Romantic Restaurant/Bar

Review Rating
The Bowery is a small restaurant with a bar. The chairs and tables are tighly packed next to each other. Primarily, this is a bar, but there is a small fantastic menu that changes frequently. If you go to the Arclight Hollywood, consider getting a drink or dinner at the Bowery. It's dark and romantic there--bad for kids.

It’s hard to say whether you are in NYC or LA once you enter this hot-spot on Sunset Boulevard. A typical French bistro-style ambiance, French-American cuisine, a colossal wine list and a good time are what the Bowery promises. Soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches appear on the menu, and the place is filled with locals and tourists who come here after their site-seeing sessions. The prices are ... more

This dark but shiny spot, covered in black and white tile, isnt just the kind of hip New York-ish spot where a mysterious old man in a full-on kilt getup might sit down at the next table. Its the kind of hip New York-ish spot where, when it happens, no one bats an eye. First-time restauranteur George Abou-Daoud makes it all look rather simple. The compact but stylish spacewith a dominant bar, tin ... more

In Short Located just east of Sunset + Vine, this smartly styled brasserie-cum-saloon infuses the area with another dose of Lower-Manhattan attitude and design. Under a pounded tin ceiling, wall-mounted loveseats and floor-to-ceiling black-tiled walls, hungry hipsters graze on gussied up pub grub. The menu includes a ground sirloin burger and Belgian ale-braised short ribs. Boozier spirits ... more

My friends took me here for my birthday, and what a treat. Wine was pouring, great music, and lots of fun.
I prefer reds and they had a nice selection. Ambiance was perfect. Close enough to rub elbows with the locals but enough space to enjoy your own crowd. 5 stars!

This place was awesome. Weny over for dinner and drinks - the burger was phenomenal and the service was great, especially considering how busy it got. Best martinis I've had in a while.
We'll be back very soon....probably tomorrow.

My friends and I stopped into The Bowery one night just to check out the place. We got seated up in the window which was nice, because the rest of the place was a bit on the claustrophobic side. The service was good, especially given how packed the place was. I'm betting its a great place when it's not so busy. All in all though we had a good time, especially laughing along (or at) the neighboring ... more

New York, New Yawk. LA is so not New York. But if you're like me, I bet you kinda wish LA had a bit of that Big Apple-ness every now and again. A bit of the close city livin', less of the sprawled out neighborhoods. Enter The Bowery. Tiled and reminescent of a NYC subway, albeit waaay more clean--and with beer!--The Bowery is my favorite New York-esque hangout on the left coast. Sure, all of ... more
