Casual yet upscale Indian restaurant

The word acoeDabbawallaac translates to dabba = lunch box, and walla = man or the 'lunch box man'. It is a 125 year old trade formed by a unique and incredible network of 5,000 men with the complex task of delivering 200,000 home made lunches each day from suburban homes to downtown offices in the city of Mumbai... all within a period of approximately 3 hours! That's about 65 million 'dabbas' a...

The Bombay Bistro, formerly known as Dabbawalla, in its newer and slicker avatar, serves up a wide array of classic delights with a contemporary twist to the traditional Indian flavors. Expressed best through the evolution of its multicultural food, service and ambiance, one cannot miss out on the warmth and buoyancy of the Indian spirit at The Bombay Bistro.

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

"You can eat healthy" at this Summit BYO (fka Dabbawalla), which "puts a modern spin on Indian food", with dishes such as a stuffed lamb burger, as well as "fine traditional dishes", at moderate prices; some feel the new incarnation is "more inviting" than before, and while the service may not impress, many tout it as a "refreshing change of pace in the area."

My husband and I tried this for the 1st time Sat. night and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was authentic and serviced family style so sharing is easy and a chance to try different things. The waitress was very nice and gave some good suggestions. We took home leftover snap had it the next day fro lunch and still really yummy.

We have really been enjoying dining here. The food is very fresh and it is less heavy than I find many Indian meals. They also have many more selections than I usually see and some very tasty and differnt flavor combinations. Absolutely worth a visit.

Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. They are very helpful in describing dishes and accommodating your spice level. The food is delicious! We will definitely go back as a couple for date night and with the family.
